The App is entirely stateless. All word definitions, etymologies, and examples are bundled within the App and processed locally on your device.

Word of the Day uses Expo's OTA update service to deliver word database updates and improvements directly to your device. During an update check, the App makes a network request to Expo's servers to determine whether a new JavaScript bundle is available. No personal data or device identifiers are included in this request beyond standard HTTP metadata (such as IP address) handled by Expo's infrastructure.

Word of the Day uses the following third-party services:
No analytics platforms, behavioural tracking tools, or backend databases are integrated.
Google Play may collect standard technical information as part of its platform operations. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for more details.
Optional local preferences (such as favourite words, search history, or remove-ads purchase status) are stored only on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is never transmitted to any server. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App will permanently delete all stored information.
Word of the Day is suitable for users of all ages, including children. The App does not require registration and does not request personal information. Advertisements are served by Google Mobile Ads and may be personalised based on Google's policies. Parents can disable personalised ads in their Google Account settings.
Since Word of the Day does not collect or retain any personal data on any server, there is no personal information held by us to request, correct, or delete. All your data is stored on your own device and can be cleared at any time by clearing the App's local storage or uninstalling the App.
All network requests made by Word of the Day, including OTA update checks and ad requests, use HTTPS exclusively. No sensitive personal data is transmitted over any network.
